Deep breathing exercises
Take deep breaths when you're feeling overwhelmed.
Sleeping
Kept a couple of ice packs in a small thermal bag on my bed and brought it out whenever it got itchy. You can fan yourself afterwards if your body has produced a lot of sweat from it.
Showering
With NMT, you're only supposed to shower 1-2 times a week. For a whole year I've been having bird baths to reduce how much water was touching my skin. You may feel itchy after taking a shower, so just pat the affected parts to avoid scratching it instead.
Support Groups
What's great is that a platform is available everyone is able to post questions and comment.
Shampoo
I used to use the anti-dandruff Heads & Shoulders shampoo with Almond oil. I don't think I had a problem with this product but there were some people suggesting that shampoo is not a part of NMT which prompted me to stop. I only stopped using shampoo for a month before finding oily, smelly hair unbearable and started using Thursday Plantation shampoo & conditioner.
Minera dead sea salt & Bioderma Atoderm Cleansing oil
I used to apply both of these before showering everyday for the first couple of months. Whenever I felt itchy, I'd apply the dead sea salts directly to the affected parts and leave it on for 2mins before washing it off. It would sting like crazy, but it did help with reducing the itchiness. Dead sea salts was most effective at the start of TSW as you'll notice in your initial full body flare up, you'll have open wounds everywhere. Not sure about the Bioderma Cleansing oil, but oils are a definite no in the NMT protocol. I don't use these products anymore.
Exercise
Before starting TSW I bought the Ring Fit game on the Nintendo Switch and played it everyday to keep up with my exercise. Did about 20 mins of exercise everyday and in the comfort of my own home. In the 2nd half of my first year of TSW, my skin got better and I started going to the gym to do weight training and cardio.

Clothing
Remember to wear loose cotton clothing. You may find that other fabrics may aggravate your skin and a lot more than when you were using steroid creams. Anyway, I purchased a Japanese jinbei from Muji Emporium and I love it. Very light & comfortable. Highly recommend!
Healthy eating
TSW has gotten me eating healthier. I've reduced processed sugars, dairy and sadly junk/fast food. I've noted down my allergies from my GP and naturopath appointment to avoid future triggers, though I don't really feel a big difference in when I've had them. I've organised cheat days for myself one day a month so I can keep my sanity lol.
Vacuum
Keeping a small vacuum by your bedside can be handy when you're constantly flaking.
